Hyper Theoretical Question

watching Kimi Raikonen last night driving his WRC Citroen Car at Portugal rally

Question.... if you have a choice between driving a Formula 1 and WRC rally car, what would you choose ?

For a one off experience, no doubt, F1. The feeling of power must be incredible!

If I had a chance to really get to grips with it, rally.

Yeah, I'd love a rally as well. That looks challenging.

Just look what happens when rally champions go in F1 .. they win
When a particular polish F1 pilot tries his hand at rally you get a different result .

An F1 for sure.

Although I hear that it wouldn't be as easy I thought. I'm told that two things are vitally important while driving one of those cars: Keep your brakes HOT and keep the engines RPMs UP.

I don't know if I'd be coordinated enough to accomplish both of those and still concentrate on my driving.

Going from "the car is everything", 20 races/year, 200 miles/race, 12 cars/race, almost no passing (excuse me... "overtaking") except in the pits (excuse me... "paddock"), first qualifier generally wins unless team orders conflict, to NASCAR, isn't an adjustment that sits well.

MOTO GP!!!! heh...jk. Well, not really.

I really enjoy both, F1 and WRC. WRC just looks a lot more fun to do. Which is why Kimi probably switched!

WRC it is!

Rally car.

I've driven a NASCAR car and it was fun, but no trees, mud, gravel, snow, etc...

F1, F1, F1!

With rallying there is always the chance of getting drunk and waking up next to a fat bird from Wales who offers you some Bovril from her Thermos flask!

Never seen that in Monaco!
