This was just as the sub c was released, the AD didn't have that model,I would buy a sub c but may find that hard to do as the prices keep going up,which makes another Pam purchase more likely and also makes Omega an option.
You do know that Omega are putting their prices up by 9% next month don't you??

Back on topic i'd obviously heard of Rolex long before Panerai but did not hear of Pam's via Rolex, it was just through window shopping in AD's that i came across them. Do i like Pams? Without a doubt. Would i buy one? Depending on my want/need at a time i was looking, yes

well no but the point I was making was Omega's price point is lower than Rolex,I've been looking at the speedy which is about half the price of a sub,I would find it hard to jusify the extra on the sub when the speedy is on my list too,it could just mean the sub gets pushed back again or it may mean I never get around to owning the sub c?

There's a lot of talking about overall Omega prices going up in the next couple of years. There has already been a price increase in the last few months. Still tho, from what I've seen, AD's have been discounting wayyyy more than one would for Rolex.

Go for the Speedy Pro, trust me, you will not regret it for a moment

I've always wanted a Rolex and a Panerai. I knew which model of sub from the start.
My first Panerai will be a 112 :)

I wore Rolex exclusively for about 15 years, then I found PAM, and that made me look even further into other brands. I still LOVE Rolex, but I am venturing out and loving it. You can get a bit boxed in only wearing Rolex.

I'm thinking about it now.

Deciding between Pam 88 or 111 or 005.

Classic almost plain or chronograph PAM.

I'm sorry I don't follow. Chronograph? The 88 is a GMT model and the other two Base 'Historics'.

I was wondering the same thing. Also, kinda tactless to say something that brusque in a PAM subforum.

Most Panerai's have a certain "magic" about them. Plus, the dial is perfectly legible.

After years of owning Rolexes, I bought my first Panerai (PAM292) last Christmas. I love it and it fits nicely into my collection but I don't see myself flipping.

Legibility

I love the legibility of Panerai, day or night! It bothers me that my SD is not legible indoors. But once outdoors and especially on an overcast day or at the beach the SD shines. I think the new EXPII is Looking good on the lume and legibility front.

I started with Rolex and still intend to keep the ones I already have. But I have since acquired an IWC, a couple of JLC's, a Speed Master, and my latest a Panerai.

I think there are alot of brands out there that bring different things to the table. I like having a bit of variety.

Bruno, I am wearing G-Shocks about 99% of the time these days. Have another one landing tomorrow.

Just too cool and fun. No worry watches and I love it.

At one time only owned Rolex, then only owned Panerai...now own both. Really only wear the Panerai though those have taken a back seat to G-Shocks. It is a weird thing but I can buy two G's for what I was paying for one strap for my Panerai.

I say just get what makes you smile, brand be damned and enjoy.

My first Panerai, I waited patiently for almost 7 months before I recieved it. Now, I would like to look for a 9A in the near future. But I'm on the waiting list for the 372 and the Boutique shop says I can have it later on this year, which is good, as I'm not in a rush either.

In the meantime, I'm also looking for some really nice Vintage Rolex or Tudor Divers watch.

Simply put YES... Although I must say I had some prodding from a couple of friends here on TRF I had eves only for Rolex for the last several years but have needed to broaden my horizons. The more I learn about Pam the more I like them However thats not saying much because I know next to nothing at this point

I started out with a few Tags then moved to Omega. After a while I moved to a Rolex datejust then PAM 111. Now I am looking for a submariner for my next watch. I often find myself looking at IWC and JLC watches from time to time. I am very happy with my PAM 111. My 4yr old son chose it over the submariner. I told him whichever watch he chose would eventually be his one day. He liked the see through case back of the 111. It took me a little while to get used to winding the watch but overall I am very happy with it. I wear it on the weekends.

Just switching strap back to bracelet tonight on my PAM. I got to admit I just love the mechanical and aesthetic look of the PAM. The movement, looks and the ability to swap straps really make it an incredible watch.

Was given a Rolex when I was young.

When I got Older I was attracted to Panerai (among others) and went anti-Rolex. Then sold all my Panerai and now built my Rolex Collection.

Coming full circle and want to buy 1 Panerai (again) to round off my collection.
