Perhaps not devalue by a whole lot, but still, it's not a complete piece.

Just to illustrate - you know how many Rolex people/collectors are - we want the original box, the original cushion, the original paperwork, the original cloth, the original outer box, the original hologram, the original bezel protector, the original anchor - we want it ALL to be original there... If it's not all there, allright, that's probably okay - we'll still take it, BUT... we'll pay less....
I don't know if you collect vintage pieces or not, but it is quite obvious that we collect using a different point of view. I could care less about Box/Papers/Bits on any watch quite honestly. They do nothing for me. I just paid what I consider a premium for a vintage Red Sub because it has an ABSOLUTELY flawless dial/hands/case. It just happened to come on a 9315, but I would have paid the same price if it came on a replacement 93150.

Sorry to the OP for getting slightly OT

About the wife...

I've been there several times. The easiest fix is to go back to the pawn shop and buy a nice piece of jewelry for your wife. Makes the price of the sub higher, but at least you can keep and wear it in peace. Enjoy!

Looks great. There's such a HUGE price difference between this Sub and the PP you want, it should make too much of a dent. Why would your wife be mad if you used cash you had been saving for the PP?
