New guy with an LV

Aloha Rolex family.
Just got my first fine timepiece; the Submariner LV.
Just got a few questions. How many were made and how much longer will this particular watch be made? Also does it have to say LV on the sticker on the back of the watch?

Thanks for your help and looking forward to chatting with you all online!

Congrats on your new LV and welcome to TRF.

I'm pretty sure it would say 16610LV on the back...and on the hologram.

Cheers - JJ

Bradah...No worry! I have an LV. It only says 16610 on the hologram.

Lived in Honolulu many years and may return soon. I miss Rainbow's Drive Inn.

ALOHA!

If you live on Hawaii, you should have a "Pepsi" GMT like "Magnum P.I." had in the series!

Back of the LV,

Nowhere on the watch is it refered to as 16610LV. The reference between the lugs is 16610T, just like any non-lug hole sub.

The only reference to an LV designation is on the paperwork and tag.

The LV was introduced to "commorate 50 years of the Submariner". No one knows the number made. What is known is far fewer LVs have been made than Black bezel examples.
IMO the LV will stay in production untill a new sub reference is introduced.

Shoots Brah. Rainbows it is. I usually go there straight from the airport. Should be back there soon. Any good ADs there? I am in Oregon now. Wanted to buy a house. Here I finally could. Plenty locals here too.

Hey Bo, what did the "Pepsi" watch look like?
We used to see Tom Selleck all the time while he shot the show here. Great guy, real humble.

AD = Authorized Dealer. Rolex grants AD status to very few jewelers.

Sorry, still learning the lingo. Yeah, here on Oahu we have Ben Bridge and a couple others in Ala Moana.Ofcourse Waikiki has it's share of high end timepiece shops. I got my LV from Maui at a timepiece jewler called Baron & Leeds ( they have 2 locations there). A very close friend of mine works for the company and hooked me up with this beauty. They have since opened up another shop in Kona.
Brah those all your timepieces pictured there..?!
I gotta move to Oregon!

Yes. they are all mine. Lived paycheck to paycheck in Hawaii. Not here. I can make a living and have a few nice things instead of driving a buss up car and renting with three roomates. Love Hawaii, but you gotta pay the paradise tax.

Mr. Selleck wore a reference 16750 in the series. Visually nearly identical to the 1675, the 16750 was noted for the tall coronet on the dial of the early matt dial references. Also the first GMT to use a fast beat movement and have a quick-set date.

Now I feel the time difference between Denmark and the USA

I was too late to answer your question, but Mike did a nice job at doing so

Welcome ka'auila

Congrats on the watch. I'm new to the forum as well and still looking for my first rolex. I lived in Makakilo for a few years, I miss Zippy's, loco moco and talking story with all the locals. Again congrats on the watch and welcome.

Wow, Florida! Could you have got any further away from Hawai'i? Still be in US..? ;) Zippy's still rockin' here!
What's your watch of choice? Got too many to just chose one!
Each of the timepieces really do have personalities of their own.
I keep telling my wife that and she still isn't sold that I need more than one..!

My personal favorite is the TT Yachtmaster. Mine is SS/YG with a blue dial. Love it.

The SS roselium dial(?) Yachtmaster is probably the next one I'd really like to own. The TT would be WAY out of ny nickels and dime fund!! But......if the lotto ever gets our way....

Wives can be a tough sell. I solved that one by buying Nancy these. I guess she's into vintage because I'm still around!
