Maybe my problem was that I was at the lower end of the range - it could have been a different story if I was looking at a Seadweller or Sub. As it was, with the money at my disposal, the Rolex I could buy was not that desirable, and I got a great Breitling that I love for a good price. Regards, John. |

Great watch John.
I have two Breitlings myself, the CA and the Steelfish X-Plus. Quote:

One thing to remember is that you are on the Rolex forums so a little bias is to be expected. The 34mm salmon dial SS would be an Airking design. One of the least desirable Rolex models. A 14060M at the same price would have sold in a flash . The Airking is going to attract only dust in the window IMO. If your Breitling looks anything like this Colt Auto Full Steel then I thing you have made a fine fine choice and there will be only a small loss if and when you resell (RRP £1360 - street price £1175).

John,
First off, you made a great choice on the Breitling. Much better than a 34 mm Date with Salmon dial. Second, if you're looking at watches as an investmet, remember this bit of advice. The fastest way to make a million dollars investing in watches is to start with two million.

Well i sounds kind of silly to buy a watch that you dont like because its an investment. Why buy ANYHTING you dont like? IF you like a Casio then buy a Casio, it whatever makes you happy. Used Rolexes do move. It may just be the people who walked into that store didnt want that watch, or preferred a new one, it could also be the sales people dont push it as much in that store in comparison to new watches, when I asked to see the GMT i was handed 2 new ones, when I asked to see the one with the black bezel she finally told me it was used, it wasnt her first inclination to offer me the better deal.
