Help from TRF Community for a Tudor chrono bezel ref. 79260 !

Hi all,
I'm here asking for your great help and support in order to solve a problem.

As some of you might know, I'm the happy owner of 2 Tudor chronos, both of them are 79280 (one with silver dial/black sudials and the other one is the reverse).

Now I would like to try to change the look of the silver dial one installing on it the black bezel ref. 79260, in order to obtain a final look like the one in the pic below (pic courtesy of Z-Sub).

The problem is that it seems very hard to find a new Tudor ref. 79260 bezel. I'm looking on-line, asked to several ADs here in Italy and abroad but seems quite impossible to find ...

I also contacted several helpful Tudor fans here on TRF, but the problem is that RSCs seem reluctant to sell spare parts, also if just a bezel ...

So my question is if you know where to source one or if you find a new one for me.

Thanks in advance for your help, it's really appreciated and I remain waiting for your reply.

Ciao

Cannot see why any AD in Europe cannot order you a bezel insert its just the insert you need.

Engi, all I can offer are my wishes for good luck. As you know, the 79260 is the watch I'm seeking - the black bezel insert is most attractive.

If you do find a new bezel insert, how would this affect service through RSC?

As long as it's authentic, no worries. However, chrono bezels and Tudor parts specifically can be hard to source, especially in the US.

Best of luck, Engi!

Thanks all for your support.

In Europe Tudor parts are just a bit easier to be found, the main problem is that they not release just the spare part (the bezel in this case), they want to keep the part that they replaced, but I do not wont to let them my 79280 stainless steel bezel (that by the way is new !)

This is the reason for which I'm trying to source one not through RSC. Moreover some of them tell me that they do not want to alter the 79280 configuration ...

I'll keep looking for it ...

Ciao

The service center in Toronto, Canada has them in stock (my friend had to have his replaced last month as it fell off and he couldn't find it). The problem is, Rolex Canada will want you to send the entire watch to them as they won't ship the part to you or a AD for installation.

I'm going through the same issue with a silly, little springbar for my Tudor clasp. They want the entire watch (not just the deployant clasp) so they can have their highly trained watchmakers install a springbar.

Yes, it's incredible how difficult can be to have access to those very simple spare parts ...

I understand your frustration, Engi. I called our local AD about future repairs/service for a Tudor chronograph. I even specifically mentioned replacing a bezel and insert. They seemed pretty underwhelmed about wanting to work on the watch at all or even to answer questions, saying, "Tudors are no longer sold in the US."

They did indicate they'd probably have to send in the watch rather than order the part.

The level of helpfulness sure changes if you're shopping there for a new watch. Surely enough local people have purchased Tudors from them in the past that they would be more knowledgeable about their repair and service.

Yes Lisa, it's a real frustration, it's incredible how the "customer care" is conceived when there is a sort of market monopoly as is the case for Rolex/Tudor ...
