I never wear my watch when playing golf. Of course, I haven't played golf in over 45 years. Haven't even hit golf balls in the last 20 years.

I play wirh several guys who wear theirs. I have noticed the jubilees on the Datejusts are stretched a bit......I put mine away for the round by longtime habit. I always wear one when I get to the 19th hole though....

Personally, I don't like a watch on my wrist when I swing. But I'm not worried about damaging the watch.

I'm not weighing in one way or the other on the damage question. I play a lot of golf and always take may watch off before playing/practicing because, as in the above comment, I just don’t want it on while making a swing. I do want to point out though that most of the pros who are seen wearing watches while playing and/or more likely in the post round interviews;

1. Get them for free as part of an endorsement deal and don't give a thought to what playing in them might do to the watch.

2. Generally have a stipulation in the contract that they must be wearing the product (watch) during any televised rounds or interviews, basically anytime they could be photographed.

Given this information, to offer that pros wear them while playing as evidence that it doesn't damage the watch may not necessarily be correct.

Comfort while making your swing is a matter of personal preference but I genuinely believe the only way you could damage your Rolex playing a round of golf would be to place it lovingly on your tee and let rip with a 3 wood!

I played all the time with my Sub and GMT II C before I sold it and no problems. These watches are definitely robust enough for golf, tennis etc.

Naaaaaaaah! I played 2years of JR college, 1year playing NCAA golf and mini tours for about 2 years before I realized I needed to a get real job or eat instant noodles and drinl soda for the rest of my life! Hahaha! But, I wore my SUBY everyday hitting about 6 large buckets of balls, plus I played a round of golf everyday! My Suby ran +2 sec a day with no problems! My old coach wore his DJ everyday for over 10 years playing golf with No problems! The muscles and bones in your hands and arms take all the shock!
