Well IMHO with watches like the S.Steel Daytona simply fashion and the S.Steel was hard to get at retail at one time.So perhaps in the Daytona it was the fact of owning a watch that was at the time a sort of status symbol because it was very hard to get.While the TT could be found at most ADs for under retail with far more dial options too.

TT is a dated 80's look, and you are just advertising the fact that you can't afford the full gold version.

And while I'm at it I think you can only pull off a full gold watch with gold bracelet if you are Tony Soprano or Elle Macpherson.

A gold watch with leather strap is hot though, not too over the top.

Stick with SS, it rules!

The only TT I have any interest in is the Root Beer. I think it works with the brown dial but not black, white or blue...

I think TTs second hand values may be hurt by the fact that, as a generalisation, it tends to be worn more by non WIS as a ostentatious show of wealth...

I would guess second hand SS are in better shape, whereas the TT's have more scratches due to the gold.

For me, TT on the sports models don't look quite right, however on the classic 36mm DJs, they look perfect! Anyway, that's just my personal opinion.

Generally speaking, SS is the cheapest so it's the most popular. Not only TT, full gold and platinum are not popular as well if compare to SS.

Hey Craig,

I would say mainly due to a smaller market to sell into. As in supply and demand, less demand is equalized with price. Certain people love the look; however, there are just less of them.

IMO ... both TT and the YG watches look gaudy. And I think that opinion is shared by most people that I know...
People I know associate gold/TT watches as something you wear after you retire at 60... I still wouldn't wear them at that age.

I think that's a big part of it. TT bracelets with age are in worse shape then SS and can cost more then the watch is worth to replace.

I am 22 years old and love the look of the TT sport models...GMTIIc, Subs...

It kinda makes ppl do a double take...i like the grandpa look..I make all the kids in ed hardy and other trendy B$ look like fools..

In summary i like classic/timeless looking watches, clothes, etc....nothing to do with age..its what you like

I have to admit I am not a fan of TT-never have been and likely never will be. It is a look that to me is way too busy.
