Uh, recently they took us to and won in OT- of course it's the only game I go to this season. Frickin Hossa on a deflection.
But it still was an entertaining game.

For me it would be nice to see Tampa take it all even though I do know the chances are nil.

Me 2!

I am on the Stevie Yzerman train now!

I really thought the Wings were going to pull it off. I guess it shows how tough that game 7 come from behind victory truly is. If any team could have done it would have been them. Nonetheless, what a great game and series versus San Jose. All one goal games and only point separating the two during the regular season. Detroit versus San Jose are two very good, evenly matched teams. I think we have a new "Avalanche" type rivalry going.

Also, nice to see the former Redwings assistant coach have some success.

IMO the Stanley Cup playoffs this year have been outstanding entertainment.

Sad news last night. My daughter called me about 10PM. She was having a party at her Minneapolis home attended by several NHL players, when their cell phones began lighting up with texts stating that Derek Boogaard, a former Minnesota Wild fan favorite had been found dead in his apartment in Minneapolis.

Boogaard was a huge defenseman, standing 6'8" and weighing 260 pounds. He had been traded to the New York Rangers after five years with the Wild. While with the Rangers, he created “Boogaard’s Booguardians,” hosting military members and their families at all New York Ranger home games. In addition, he made multiple appearances with partner organizations of the Garden of Dreams Foundation “to make dreams come true for kids facing obstacles.”

The cause of death isn't known, but Wild fans are saddened by his loss.

The Medical Examiner has ruled that Derek Boogaard died of an accidental mix of oxycodone and alcohol. Such a waste.

I can imagine a circumstance where he had persistent post-concussion headaches like I did and mixed pain meds and alcohol. I wouldn't wish those headaches on anyone.
