Looking for feedback on 24/25 submersibles

Hey All,

I posted this over on the other site, but figured I would reach out to this crowd too.

Im getting pretty close to adding a 24 or 25 to my PAMily, but with some of the recent "issue" threads I wanted to get some feedback from the population. How does the 24 and 25 hold up over time? Has there been a wobble or breakdown issue with either....or both? Love the weight and look of the Ti 25, but unsure of the 25 dial - somedays I love it somedays I think it detracts from the rest of the piece.

Since Im looking for the good and the bad, pics or feedback on either is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me if you dont want to post.

Between the two, I prefer the 24. I'm not a big fan of the hobnail dial.

I prefer the feel and dial of the 24....If you're unsure of the dial on the 25 now I'd be cautious.

I have the 24 and love it. I like the weight and feel of a ss tool watch. Also it looks great in rubber, leather, and my favorite alligator straps. Beautiful and versatile. The polished case really allows you to dress it up with a nice OEM gator strap. Get the 24!

I had the 25 for about 3 weeks didn't like the dial, wasn't crazy about the titanium look but was really not happy about the wobble...I hear about the charm of it but not on such an expensive piece...no thanks...I'm looking at the zero or the 212 right now

I think both are great choices... but would prefer the cleaness of the 24. Cant go wrong with either. If it was up to me, I would buy an older one with patina, looks gorgeous~

I was in the same predicament, in the end, I am going to get 243 instead.

24 too shiny;
25 too waffly and light;
243 is perfect and macho looking

gotta side with the majority and say 24. it's cleaner and the SS is brighter.

kinda agree with this
was "seriously" looking at one of there, but the itch has gone for a walk atm..... as much as i prefer the 25 over the 24..... i think i will end up with a 243 also if i were to pull a trigger on a Submersible

Thanks Greg, is the wobble common on just the 25 or also the 24 - I have heard a lot about this with Ti models due to the drop in case weight.

Anyone with a 24 experience the wobble?

Thanks Coopster - I was looking at the 243 as well, but thought it seemed a little too thick to fit under a dress shirt. The 1950 case is pretty sweet.

I own a 25 and prefer it to the 24. Following are my preferences for the 25:

- Titanium case: I like the lighter weight and love the muted tone of the matte brushed finish. The watch still has plenty of weight and mass, even in Titanium.

- Hobnail dial adds interest and dimension to the face.

Regarding the rotor wobble, to my knowledge all Panerai models with the Valjoux based movement will exhibit this characteristic on occasion. It doesn't happen very often on my 25. If you don't know what it is it could a bit disconcerting at first, but this is a tried and true bulletproof movement which can be serviced by virtually any qualified watchmaker. Additionally that service cost should be a fraction of what Panerai, and others, charge to service their in-house movements.

great point on the wobble. it isnt "that" noticeable unless you actually swirl your wrist close to your ear.
i have a Valjoux 7750 powered Speedmaster Date and the wobble isnt noticeable during normal activities

i do like the PAM025 due to the brushed case and the hobnail/waffle dial
