Yup May 26th... mom would have been 77. Gosh, I miss her. :-(
The funny thing is, after her death ( now 4 years ago) and of course being somewhat depressed at the time, I found a watch show with Jim Skelton and low and behold, collecting watches began with Renato watches. I suddenly had a hobby that brought me joy and smiles andhelped me fill some time on watch websites. When I started, I never imagined I would ever own Rolex.

I think you did the right thing. Because you probably saved yourself thousands of dollars buying it in your 40's vs waiting until you turn 50. Just tell her since you have your watch now sox and underwear suffice for your 50th present.
