Rolex Explorer I 2003
this is my first post and hopefully will be my first Rolex... was just wondering the if the price was right and any information would be appreciated! I've found a watch i like, a 2003 Rolex Explorer I and been given a price of £2,650. i'm sure i can get this down a bit but does that sound about right? to an absolute novice it looks in good condition and comes with uk papers, box and 1 year guarantee from a shop that has been around for a fair while in the city i live in.
http://www.oceanjewellers.co.uk/images/9.3%20018.JPG that's the same watch although from a different shop and a bit more pricey. i'd be very grateful for any help. thank you!!! |

It doesn't look too far out as far as price is concerned. If you want a bit of bargaining power ask when it was last serviced - if it was more than about four years ago then you could argue that the cost of an imminent overhaul (probably about £300) should be taken into account. You could also try the "It's just gone out of production to be replaced by the larger 214270 so is no longer a current model" approach. Is it a model 14270 or 114270? the changeover year was 2001 so its just possible (if it was in stock for a while) that it was the former - if so then it's two models removed from current product - a little more ammunition? Good luck.
