hi all-

I have a possibility to trade my V-serial GMT IIc for a 320 in a great condition ($400 cash additionally from my side). I love the look of GMT IIc but havent worn it since last spring, so I am thinking might as well get something different. I also prefer leather straps - much more comfortable on my wrist.

My main concern is whether 320 would be stupidly huge on my scrawny wrist (6.75'). And whether panerai is a fad that would fade (not likely IMO).

Wanted to get some thots? I bot a victorinox divemaster PVD version some months back and that's my go-to "sporty." I also own a cartier santos 100 with black gator strap. The 320 comes with dark brown gator strap.

Gosh... I would not do this trade myself. I love the GMTIIC...it will be around alot longer than the 320 - as a desirable watch IMHO.

I dont think it will look bad at all on your wrist, but you should go try a 1950's case on before moving forward.

No comment on is the trade worth it - totally your call.

Have you tried the 320 on? I would recommend seeing if the case is for you. The trade is only worth it if you are sure the 320 suits your wrist.

Agree with the other comments about really trying it on to see how it fits and sits on the wrist. I am fairly sure its much thicker than the GMT and sits higher. The 320 is a beauty though - one of my favs in the PAM line up. Good luck in your hunt.

I would not trade the GMTIIc. It is a modern classic as far as I'm concerned.

Like everyone said - check out the 1950 case for fit first. If you still like it, at best it's an even trade in my book. On the secondary market, IMHO, the Rolex will beat the PAM320 over time.

I say go for it. Panerai's are already classics in they're own right. Changing and buying different straps is half the fun of owning one. You'll have a great summer with a new bitch on your wrist!

but, have you tried on the piece? assume so. but, just in case, the 1950 case is pretty thick and on my 6.75 wrists it just doesn't sit right. the luminors sit perfectly, however.

Cru, I have small wrist as well and either cases fits me just fine, but then again people's wrists do vary despite same sizes. Best advice is to try it on first, the only thing keeping me from getting a fiddy is the size, I can never pull it off unless I can grow my wrist size.

Much as I like the 320, would not swap a IIc for one. This may not be a factor for you, but the 320 is less functional in being a 12 hour GMT, and of course has no rotating bezel to provide a third timezone.

But if the 1950 case suits you, and you want something a little more interesting than a 312 (while retaining a clean look) then why not...?

Funnily enough I did that exact trade just a few months ago and was happy with the 320 being my first Pam. I have no regrets as the GMT IIc was quite a watch of course but the 320 had more presence for me. I've now settled on a 351 Ti with the exact same 1950s case which I'm a HUGE fan of... As long as you're happy with the way it fits your wrist I think that's a great deal and would do it in a second :)

between the 2 i'd stick with the boring rolex.

you may like the look of panerai or find it more appealing but Rolex will be there till the end of time. dont let it go.

I'd do it- I sold my GMT II C last year to buy a Daytona because I stopped wearing it, and I don't miss it at all- and you can always find a GMT II C but 320's are hard to come by. My wrist is 6.75 and I wear a 104 with suits all the time- it is definitely not too big -the 320 is a bit thicker, but not by much

Watch out with the height of the 320, I think it is about 18mm, or 10 stacked quarters. Way too much IMO. If I'd go for a Panerai, I'd go with a manual wind one that sits lower, especially on a small wrist.
