232: review, thoughts, and pics.
Sorry, you guys may already be bored to death of my 232, but I thought I would like to share a few things regarding the watch.
As many of you know, I have just recently acquired the watch and I'm really loving it. Its a very simple watch, but unique in its own right. The watch is a limited edition of 1938 pieces - but I'm sure you all know that. To be honest, one of the main reason for getting it is that I like pam limited editions and this one has golden hands on it! As some of you know I was considering of getting a 210 and replace the hands. One of our member here actually did that and truthfully, I envy his result. The golden hands in a basic no fuss sandwich dial with a 45mm size.. Sounds too good to be true! Instant classic design that will last longer than my life for sure.. So why didn't I do the same then you might ask? What made me decide on the 232 instead? Afterall the 210 with golden hands are remarkably similiar.. What gives!? Two simple and trivial reasons. Some of you may go.. What? Seriously? But yeah, to me these simple reasons are the decision maker. First of all the stacked letterings of the radiomir Panerai with cream letter colours instead of the seperated letterings and white xoloured fonts on the 210.. And secondly, the tobacco gray brown dial. The dial is actually to me, less brown than the ones you find in the newer version - a 351 for example. Instead, its more grayish. To actually spot the brown you will need to see it under a really bright sun. Thus, the tobacco gray dial and along with the other features.. Is a win for me. However, I still don't fancy the size. Sure the 47mm is still wearable. But I'm nutpicky and sorts and would highly prefer the 45mm size any day. To sum up, I think the 232 is an over priced 210. While yes I have no regrets purchasing one.. But those are for my personal reasons that I have stated. But if you are not a freak like me.. Then a 210 with a substituted golden hands would equally look stunning. However the 232 still has an edge on having both a vintage and classy criteria from me due to the use of the tobacco dial and cream coloyred letterings.. Whilst the modded 210 will never get that vintage criteria from me. If you are thinking of getting one and doesn't nitpick like me, then move along and buy yourself a 210 and change the hands. But if you are one of the freak of nature like me.. Then get one, I promise you will not regret it. Thanks for reading..

Congrats!
Love the brown dial and gold hand combo!
How does it wear size wise vs. the 249 if I may ask? I have a 45mm Rad and it fits me great on a 6.5 inch wrist.. 47mm size worries me. Enjoy the beauty... very nice. Best, Fred |

Thank you for the compliments Fred. The watch wears exactly the same with my 249. However, the domed plexi of the 249 makes it pops out higher. Truth be told Im kinda fidgety when I wear my 249 due to its plexi case..

Nicely done Norman!
And I completely agree with you! the 232 has its own charm and its historical dial is different and a beauty in its own way. The 232 has almost a cult status in the Panerai world! Enjoy and wear it in good health...

Great review, great pictures and great watch. I recently sold my 232 after 2 years of ownership, the reason, to buy a DSSD because I wanted a daily wearer with a metal strap and I managed to secure a 411 Firenze Boutique Edition Luminor Marina. I do occasionally regret letting my 232 go but then I look at my current combo and couldn't be happier. Another factor that helped me decide it had to go was the fact that Panerai released more than the 1938!!!
Wear the 232 and enjoy.

Nice!
But..."But I'm nutpicky and sorts and would highly prefer the 45mm size any day" Then why not get the 190? isn't that gold hands and only 45mm?
