Rolex sale at AD: need some advice on buy/price
Hello All
My AD is having a Rolex/Omega end of line sale. In terms of Rolex, the following models are on sale: 1. SS Sub 16610 2. TT Datejust 16233 3. DD 18238 I'm mainly interested in the old sub and the old day date. The AD rang me today and said that they remembered that i had offered 5k for the SS Sub and that "it would be cheaper than that at the sale" so i assume 4k USD. It a great price either way, so its my default option unless they have something in omega which catches my fancy. However the AD also said they have the older Day Date with diamond dial 18238. I appreciate that the older 18238 has the prior clasp and "less gold". I would appreciate some further pros/cons of the model. What would be a fair price for this to pay BNIB from the AD bearing in mind it is the older 18238 model day date with diamond dial? I would want it at rock bottom clearance. I already have the new 116610, 116520, and the tudor gmt. Many thanks for your help. Thanks |

I think the diamonds on a Rolex are very, very tacky...so I would have to say go for the Sub.

You already have a Sub... why another one?

Depends what you like. if the DD speaks to you and is a good price, go for it. Good thing is Rolex only uses quality diamonds. As for price, I'm just guessing but would think 10K to 12K would be a fair price. That is considering it is NOS, you are the first owner, you are buying from an AD w/ warrantee, it is a diamond dial, but it is the older model.
