Totally Ignorant Question About Rolex Box

I know this sounds really stupid.

Here I am, college degree and all, and I can't figure out how to easily remove the book from the lid of my GMT case.

I pulled on the part that seems to be holding the booklet in, thinking that it would come out and be suspended by ribbon or something of the sort, but nope, not a budge.

The booklet seems to be in there pretty darn good.

I feel like a freakin' moron here. Yeah, I probably could yank it out, bend it to hell, and break the part holding it in, but I didn't really want it to come to that. Tissot, Tag, Movado, nice boxes, but no problems; I feel like a 'tard.

You know...I've never acually seen a booklet in the lid pocket. Is that where you're talking about ?

All I have ever seen there is the polishing cloth, which I understand they don't provide anymore.

Every booklet or envelope of papers I've had has been in the outer box and falls out when you dump out the green inner box.

Am I not seeing this right ?

You've got it. The booklet, the only thing that I can tell I got with the watch, is in the lid pocket.

Maybe tomorrow I'll take a pic.

I pulled hard at the front of the pocket, but it sounded like I was breaking something. Stupid box.

And, FWIW, I may even take pictures of my Tissot and Tag and Movado boxes. For less money, they sure do provide better stuff. You'd think Rolex would do a tad bit more, but hell, I didn't buy a box, I bought a watch...

The Rolex boxes now days look pretty, BUT quality has definitely gone south.

With regards to the DD box, the 'flap' in hinged and spring loaded.

However the GMT box, which is like the Sub box is different. The 'flap' appears to be fixed.

Maybe your best bet would be to use plastic tweezers or turn to box unside down and shake it like hell.

I usually sit all the 'stuff' inside a plastic bag between the inner and outer boxes.

you're not the first one who notice this... i started a thread around last month that raises the same question.... i simply do not understand it too...

i think the papers are meant to be put on top of the green box before you put it in the paper outerbox.

silly i know

apart from that...don;t let it bother you...because in the end of the day....how many times do you pull out the booklet and have a read....

so enjoy wearing your GMT.. stunning indeed

I know exactly what you are talking about. You just have to take the booklet out very carefully.

NEVER pull at the side of the pocket as it is FIXED to the lid!

Just pull out the booklet at an angle.

Grab the end of the book while singing the Marine Corps hymm. Upon the book hearing the hymm, it should dislodge.

I just looked at the pocket in my old GMT box. The book would be an EXACT fit with no room to spare..

I expect that by now you have it out.

Did you do it without bending all the pages...

Have not messed with it. It's in the safe and I forgot the combination.
Well, not really. Just no time today. I'll check tomorrow.

.
You know, there's absolutely nothing in that book that makes it worth digging it out for.
