Ultrasonic cleaners
Hey everyone. I have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner that I usually use to polish watch bracelets but I was thinking... Is it bad to just put the whole watch in there? I've never tried it, but can the movement withstand the machine or could it do damage. It would be nice to be able to clean the whole watch that way. Thanks,

This reminds me of the thread where the guy asked if it was OK to use WD40 to lube his watch.
No offense to the OP you posted an honest question I think the WD40 question was not.

After searching TRF about this subject myself a few months ago most threads came to the consensus that the watch head should be removed and not placed in the ultrasonic cleaner. Just the bracelet.

Never put the entire watch into the ultrasonic.
Just remove the bracelet and clean this and you'll be fine. |
