I'm sure Rolex will get that fixed for you without cost. As others mention, human do make errors and what's important is that the error is acknowledged and corrected and lesson learned.

[QUOTE=richard.howe;2569698]OK...not to be a whiny baby....but I think I'm bugged about something else too now.

I would think they are suppose to pop off the bezel before they polish your case...it sounds like they skipped that part.

I'm sure the employee will get reprimanded or be put through remedial training, but in the end RSC will make it right and you'll get your baby back.

Cheers, Ji

occam's razor, the simplest explanation is most likely the correct one - It was the twat at RSC.

The dinner bell prob went off at RSC, and he slapped it in and rushed off.

I kinda like the look. Maybe we'll see this as a new style at Basel next year. Seriously, I'm sure that they will make good on a repair.

Another good reason to use Bob Ridley.

Hope you get it sorted

So weird. I can't believe they deliberately send it back in this condition. Something is going on. Reputation is everything for Rolex so this should never happen!

Just send it back and I'm sure they will fix it. Probably not someone fault but a faulty part.

They will correct even things out of warranty when I've dropped them off, so I'm sure they will fix this also.

What about the scratch on the bezel between 14 and 16 or is this an artifact?

I put it in the mail Monday this week (20 June) back to RSC detailing the issue. They should receive it later this week; I hope to hear something by Friday. The text of my note is below.

That scratch is actually just a bit of packing material.

Dear Rolex Watch USA,

I just received my GMT Master II back in the mail (serial V15xxxxx, reference/invoice 21066-8828) after Rolex received it on 19-May. When I sent the watch in, it was running a little slowly and needed to be polished up.

Upon receipt of the watch, I noticed two new and serious problems with it:

1. Second hand short end is bent backwards
2. Bezel points, once nice and sharp, have all been polished away leaving dull and slippery nubs all the way around

I’ve had service performed at the Dallas RSC before with excellent results, and have always been incredibly happy with the quality and speed of the service. However, this time, I am disappointed with what my $600 has purchased. Can you please help resolve these issues soon (and call upon receipt)?

Thank you,

Rich Howe

Did you send it directly to the center? What's the chance your jeweler sent it to an independent?

It is summer break for all the kids over here, maybe RSC is reducing some costs by letting the High School/Grade School kids (interns?) put all the hands back on? Did you dare check when the date rolls over now?

My experience with RSC Dallas has been mixed, but never anything as bad as that! I'm seriously considering future service opportunities at other Rolex facilities.

Just got word from the service center -- they're replacing the second hand and bezel for free. No explanation on the reason for the problems; I'll reserve judgement until when I get it back, expected sometime in mid-July, but I am encouraged that they elected to replace the bezel.

Stay tuned!

They better make that right...the good news is they will.

Recently I had a non-Rolex service issue my watch came back from service with a scratch on the dial.

They gave me a new dial, replaced the crystal (which had some of the anti-glare coating rubbed off which was 100% my fault as the watch sat too high in the winder and it rubbed again the glass), a new strap and deployment clasp...and they thew in a pair of cufflinks.

Basically I felt like I got a new watch!
