What would you do? Dial Question.

So I acquired a 5512 with a 1.5Mill Serial as part of a larger trade and was informed by very thoughtful and informative member here that the dial in the watch most likely is not a 5512 but a later, possibly 5513 dial. BTW my AD didn't notice this but i was wondering since its in the shop anyways what would you do? Should i swap it out for a 5512 dial or keep it as is?

Here are some pics too best i have for now.

Well, it depends, are you obsessive like me? If you were, I'd try to source a correct 5512 dial.

If it turns out that isn't the correct dial for the watch, I would try to replace it with one that was.

To keep the value of the watch you should find out what dial was used with the year of manufature. 5512 had several dials so you see what is the correct one. Having the wrong dial decreases value of the watch a whole lot. I just got finished locating a authentic dial (not refinished or lumed) for one of my Submariners and it cost me EUR 2.000,00.

The case serial suggests 1965-1966. What would be the correct dial I should be hunting for.

The dial is definitely incorrect, probably a early service dial from a 5513. I'd try sourcing a 5512 service dial, or original 5512 period dial.

Yeah, you want a 4 line dial.

Can someone confirm if this is an MK1 Serif dial. If so what can I expect to sell it for? I've located a potential replacement 5512 dial and am curious to know how much more it will cost if I sell this one.

Thanks to all

Thanks to Micheal M and others for validating that this dial is not period correct for my 5512.
