This rolex 1680 1570 movement looks interesting?
I was following along a red 1680 search on ebay and came across a picture of the movement here:
Does something look a little off? Shouldn't the gears be pinkish red color vs. being orange? Maybe this is just me not knowing much about the 1570 movement parts. Best, Fred |

Fred,
I thought the same thing about the colors. The watch is local to me(30 min away). I sent them an email about it. They said they offer a 3 day money back guarantee.I can't tell for sure but from the 1st few pictures it looks like the lume has been washed off. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT |

Thanks Matt!
I was looking at it and I have never seen this particular color since I started learning about vintages so it appeared odd! Fred |

I have seen many color variations in the reversing wheels, so this color does not surprise me.

It could be a service replacement wheel, other than that it looks good.....

Maybe I am color blind but it looks fine to me! Although it has been a long day and my eyes are growing weary!

It could just be the flash of the camera making the colours of the wheels look different.

Here's my 1680 from 1970 for comparison. But the colour does look a little different and is a more purple colour.
Also a 5500 Explorer from 64 which has the same colour purple. |
