Submariner Bezel Inserts Question...
To some this may seem a dumb question, but hey - I'm still learning .....
I've just got myself a 1992 14060 Submariner which has a stunning tritium pearl - and a nice faded insert.... but the insert has a bad scratch on it. I'm sending the watch to William Rice for some Spa treatment next week. He says he can swap the tritium pearl and put it into a new insert. My question is - I can buy a 'NOS' 14060 Lumi Pearl 14060 insert or I can buy a new insert off Rolex for the 14060 Is there or would there be any difference in font size marking, appearance etc... between buying a 'NOS' insert compared to a 'New' genuine insert |

Personally, I would look for a period correct insert rather than swapping out the pearl. Any pics of the current insert?
Edit: I just realized it was a '92 model. There might not be all that much difference between a new insert and an older one. I am not sure when the FF inserts ended.

IMHO, it looks great the way it is. I wouldn't change it.

Head over to VRF and post a WTB advertisement or see if you can get a suitable bezel insert from Steve Mulholland. I bet you can get something from the correct era that would look smashing.

+1, keep the old one and look for a new one, the older original adds a lot more character though:)

That's a nice insert with a beautiful pearl. I wouldn't change it out. And I don't think the scratches are that significant.
