DIY watch tinkers/inspections
do any of you take the case back off your watches to inspect/id them or ascertain the lube etc......i see several tools offered on sites and wondered about that. what about the o rings...who here does this, i am thinking about it for various reasons but would like to know if it is advisable. it seems like it may be a no big deal, then again maybe a train watch tech is best for the job
thoughts on this matter? it would be helpful to know if its something that is common practice if one were to start buying and selling them for id/picture sake, i guess you can only learn from doing it a few times???? thanks |

I work on my Seiko's all the time and have gotten a lot of confidence from it. But not enough to mess w/ any fine Swiss timepieces.
