Thanks! You too-it is great to hear when people use their watches well. As others have said in the past-every scratch or mark tells a story ( not that I TRY to scratch it!).

And in everything I've done with it I have only one complaint-the crown is one hell of a devil to pull out once unscrewed!
I use the glidelock often and really appreciate it's functionality.
Two sub owners have commented on it. Numerous watch sales people have complimented it. My kids' friend once pointed to the cyclops and told me I had something on my watch.
In short it has been a great watch and I have had no regrets in purchasing it.
Cheers all!
One year for me as well, although I've banged mine up enough to look like more years. Great watch. Love the change in lume, much better than earlier models, and I use the Glidelock for a variety of reasons as well. Simply great design.

That sometimes happens with my 114270.

I've always thought that my fingernail grabs the thread instead of the crown.

I'm not saying that's the case, but when I'm really careful, it doesn't happen.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking! (oops-wrong -ex!). Seriously they are tough watches. Too bad so many think they are too fragile.

Try the slight turn counterclockwise that megalobyte suggested. It really seems to work.

every day i live with my beloved watch i feel happy, i feel that i used it for the reson it was created. rolex is a sporty watch, resistant and made for a active life, that's what i think. I went to Crete at a temperarture of 40 degrees Celsius, i went to ski at a temperature of minus 20 degree celsius, and my rolie was with me...

The engraving was a simple block letters of my initials. I started a thread in the spring called "Show us your engravings".
Here is a picture (not of the engraving)-sorry it is from an iPhone.

This was done through Rolex Canada in Toronto. They have someone they send them to. There was no charge to me even though it was 5 months after I purchased it. The back is removed, and rolex "serviced" it including polishing and pressure testing( and oiling as I understand) All in all I was very satisfied, with the one exception being when they regulated it it was not as accurate as before. It is very consistent though and I'm considering sending it back for regulation.
