If money was no object, then the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2. I just love the engineering in the watch. I don't think I'd ever get bored looking at it.
If it's something that I currently own, then the Rolex Submariner Ceramic 116610LN. No doubt in my mind that it's the watch for me - durable yet versatile watch that will probably out-last me. |

Lots of Sub/Sub-C, GMT, and SDs. Definitely makes sense. I go with ANY of those, but still feeling my Sea-Dweller is the tank I'd need. It's a lifetime watch.... Along with a Sub.... And a GMT.
I need me a Sub-C, GMTii-C, and a DSSD as well. Just saying. |

For a long time I would have easily been VERY happy with just my 16710 but that all changed after acquiring the Sub C.

When you say going off to war or an adventure, I have to say my Casio Pathfinder paw2000. It is built like a tank, solar powered, has an altimeter, barometer, compass, and has Multi-band atomic timekeeping. I love my Sub C, But the Pathfinder is better built for survival in a bad situation...

Patek Philippe 5164. Great travel watch. Understated. Wear on any occasion. Durable, proven movement

I've answered this kind of threads several times before, and my answer has always been: My Explorer 14270.
It was my only watch (not really, but anyway) for many years, and have seen a lot (countries, challenges, children, career...). If I ever am in a situation where I can only keep one, this is the one, but ... since I am currently not ... and the watch has a lot of sentimental value to me ... my black ExII is a good runner-up, since it has no sentimental values (yet), and is a better watch for travelling, with date and 24h hand. And I wouldn't be as disturbed if I lost it, compared to the Ex 14270. I am wearing my 14270 as I write this, and for some reason I am starting to be more careful when using it... but it is only 15 years old... sentimental values... Best, A |
