Non-quickset and single-quickset Day-Dates

Does anyone have an older (non-quickset or single-quickset) Day-Date? How hard is it to keep the watch on the correct day and date?

It's a breeze on the single-quickset IMO, the non-quickset is a bit more involved.

Hi,
I have a single quick-set and it's not bad at all.I only wear it about 2-3 times a week. The Day will only be off by a few Days so it doesn't take too long to correct.I would think the non quick-set would be much more of a pain. The Date could be off by 30 Days. That would take long.I think you could buy a quick-set for about $1,500 more then a non quick-set.

I hardly where my DD (2-3 times a year) and when I do
I just set the correct time.

I don't bother setting the day and the date...not really necessary for me,
Im not too picky; its just a one night stand anyways

Thanks, that's helpful.

For the single-quickset, is the quickset on the date?

Yes, for the single quickset, the quickset is on the date.

As others have said, it is really not much of a problem to set a single quickset.

The longest time it takes to reset a single quickset is when the day is already on tomorrow's day Then you have to advance the time 12 or 13 times through the entire 12 hour cycle, until you get to today's day.

I know that some people would think it is OK to turn the time backwards to get to today's day, but personally, I always advance my mine forward and never backward. Maybe I am just too anal about my watches.

Anyway, I have had my single quickset Day-Date for 32 years and it still keeps great time (within -5, +5). It has been serviced every 5-7 years.

A single quickset here too, no issue with setting the day at all. I don't even think about it as its a non issue. In fact there are lots of automatic watches (other brands/non luxury) with day and date complications that are single quickset.

I'm not sure if it will be an issue in the the older non quickset/1803 though.

Thanks, that's good to know the single quicksets aren't too hard to manage.
