Used Rolexes at ADS?
Hi all, enjoying TRF and I am still getting my feet wet before I make that first purchase. I'm looking for a SS DJ fairly basic for around the 5000 range. Do ADs sell used watches? I am under the impression you have to buy new if you head to the AD...

That's not entirely true.. some AD's do carry used Rolex, however, I believe that they are not allowed to have them in close proximity to the new models. This restriction usually means that many won't bother..
In my part of the US, one major Dealer has a "Time and Time Again" event that travels around to the various Dealerships. They have a selection of all of the trade-ins, etc., that have been completely serviced and can save considerably over the cost of new..

My first Rolex was bought used from an AD. I saved a chunk off new, but not as much asn if I'd bought it here. I wanted my first to be from and AD because I wanted to be sure of getting a real one.

I know of two local AD's that sell pre-owned and New.
They are seperated as stated above. |

Typically they will service them, and my AD provides a 1 year warranty for watches bought from their estate collection.

Just FYI, I was in a Tourneau, they had a clearly used, several year old Girard Perregaux Sea Hawk Pro, priced at about 7k. I can find them NEW in forums for only a little more than half that. Your best bet financially is to do some Internet research and find a reputable seller. Plus you'll save the sales tax too.

Generally speaking you will pay quite a bit for a use watch at an AD.
