A question for the experts..
Why is the GMT II being discontinued when the 50th anniversary GMT II was introduced?
Why didn't the Sub discontinue when the 50th anniversary Green Sub was introduced? I call it LOCO ROLEX |

And besides that, Rolex sometimes really CAN seem "loco". Why did they make this Yuckmaster II?

I think there's room for both the new and classic GMT.

Well, The 16610LV was never meant to replace the 16610. Rather it was/is a specific watch designed to "commemorate 50 years of the Submariner" as the orginal Sub made it's debut in 1953. The LV first came onto the scene in 2003.
The reference 16710 was not discontinued with the introduction of the commemorative addition of the GMT--That was the all gold version. The 116710 has indeed replaced the 16710 as the standard reference for the GMT II. That Rolex chose the GMT to premier the changes that seem to be comming to the line may be in part to the fact the GMT has traditionally followed the Sub in sales. |

No, trying to figure out what they'll do or won't do will make us LOCO.
