Polishing Titanium?
Since Rolex doesn't do titanium this may be a bad place to ask this question, but can titanium watches be polished or re-brushed to work out scrapes, scratches, and nicks?
I have a couple of titanium watches with a few scuffs on the cases and buckles. They're not too bad, but just enough to drive me crazy. One is brushed and the other is pretty smooth. Also, can all jewelers that polish SS, gold, etc. also polish titanium, or does it require special tools, that they may not have? Thanks in advance for any feedback that you can provide. |

You can't polish it but you can get a Titanium refinishing brush/pen.
They are easy to use and work very well. Just brush gently in the same direction as the original finish. On a different note, high end Ti like the one used by Omega or Breitling tends to heal itself in time. The constant oxidizing process that the Ti goes through tends to fill in all but the biggest scratches or dents. It is a slow process though while the pen is fast. I used it myself many times with great results.

yeah Ti can heal itself but it is counter-intuitive that one of the strongest metals is also so soft. I sold my Oris TT diver cause I hated taking my scotchbrite to it every week.
