Won A Rolex

I am a new member and wanting more information about the piece I won. It is a Daytona Ref#116509. It is the most amazing thing I have owned, my father has one as well as 10 others. I was told it is a rare watch and am wondering what makes it that way. Please leave any infromation you may know about it. Thanks

The piece was won at a charity car show. It was offered by a very well know jewlery shop in my area. It is a 40mm s/s Daytona Csmo w/blk dia srl#G18####. I go by the jewlers tomorrow to pick up the box and paperwork.

You won this watch? Like in an auction or something? Great watch you have and if you google the ref # you will find loads of information about it. Enjoy!

So you guys in the USA have to pay tax on prizes you win????

That's not the case in Australia, all prize winnings are not taxable unless you are a professional gambler or in the business of betting (e.g. professional horse race punter).

I can verify this is a true story. I know the watch and the event. They do it every year here in Albuquerque

So which was your favorite car? The Ferrari F430 always makes me smile. I was at the racetrack with my BMW racing my buddies M5 when the car troupe came down for their series of hot laps.

Yes, that is a WG Daytona with the bracelet; about $36,000. Incredible watch.

i believe so.....but, as OP did not win cash, but, rather, an item, i'm not sure if the taxable event is the receipt of the watch or the sale (when he would receive income).

anywho, big win!!
