Finally, I see it.

I was just outside in the bright sun and I finally saw the crystal etching on my SD w/ out a loupe after looking for it for the last month. I think I was trying to focus too far into the crystal before and couldn't see it.

In the right light you can actually see it from the side of the crystal that protrudes from the bezel due the thickness of the SD crystal. It almost looks like it is etched just below the surface.

Congratulations, Mike. It's a good feeling, isn't it.

It took me years to find the one on my GMT. I had to be shown it by some Canuck I was visiting.

Nice, isn't it, Mike?

I spotted mine, too, recently

Cool little feature

I keep being amazed that some members here are actually capturing it on a macro pic!

Cogratulations !! You will receive the "I spotted the Coronet" floating trophy.Only for those exclusive members that spot it within the first year of ownership ...

Easiest on the blue dial, then the black dial, most difficult on the white dial.

I must be blind also. Is there a chance they don't put one on certain models? My DD is F series that I got new a couple years ago. I can't see anything with a 10 power loupe.

An F-series will definitely have it. Try viewing the watch under a reading lamp and with the help of a powerful loupe.

You may have to try different angles and have a lot of patience....but you will eventually spot it!!

Thanks JJ, since you said it is on a F series I knew I had to find it. I finally seen it. I did try the flashlight and my 10x loupe, moving the flashlight around at a certain angle I did see it. Knowing it's there I can see it under a reading light but more difficult that the flashlight, thanks for the help and the flashlight idea.

My SD has a mark at 6 O;clock, at the bottom of the crystal.
It got there on the bottom of a reef in Belize.
I don't need a loupe to see it either.
But the sheep don't mind.
