so the next iphone event is this tuesday at 10 am PST, so what do you think its going to be a 4S or 5 or both ? any thoughts ?

Some say only 4s. I hope it is not 5 since that will be minus several hundred off my bank account. If 5 has an updated/upgraded display that would be justification enough for me buying it though!

I say both as well.
Bigger screen on the 5 and tapered nicely. Overall size should be essentially unchanged. I don't think it's getting much bigger.

Both. Ive been using a jailbroken 3GS so besides the retina screen and front facing camera I've had the edge over the 4, but I will be switching to the 5 for the hardware upgrades

While I've been waiting I picked up a samsung galaxy s2 and have been very impressed. So much so that my iPhone 4 is now sitting waiting for me to love it again. Doesn't look like that's going to happen and I've been a loyal iPhone user since they were launched.

But the 5 may change that...let's see.

From all the tec websites I follow (I follow a LOT :) ) most say that there will be no iPhone 5. I say this due to several things:

1. There is no picture evidence of an iPhone 5 at all (none that are coming from a Foxconn factory that is. There is already quite a few iPhone 4S pictures floating around that supposedly came from a Foxconn factory).
2. Apple is testing a 4S that has a specific code name, along with an 8GB iPhone 4 that has another code name. Yet, there is no code name in the testing phase for the iPhone 5 (I got all this info from Mac Rumours, so take it as you may).

I REALLY do hope that Apple will come out with an iPhone 5 with a larger display, thinner deign, etc. But I'm willing to bet some serious coin that they are not this time around. I think that they will only release the 4S, with the SAME 3.5" display body (with MAYBE a redesigned antenna), but with the A5 chip, and 1GB of ram, 8MB camera, iOS5, etc.

We'll see if I'm right come Tuesday, but that's what I'm banking on :)

However, if there is no iPhone 5, then ill do the iphone4s.

This does look sweet though. I agree MikeB no real proof of an iPhone 5. If that assistant feature is on this phone, its gonna be craze?!!!

whats up with iOS 5, the tech sites say there hasn't been any updated betas?!!?! YIIIIKES!

If you look at some of the cases that have come out, there is a design difference between them and the 4 and 4s. Looking at the event announcement, there is a 1 notification on the phone icon. I'm thinking only 1 model. I think apple kinda screws themselves by only doing one release every year. That is personal opinion only, as I'm sure millions will line up no matter what they put out. I'm holding out for LTE. The iPhone 4 still works fine for me.

From what I was told from a friend who works for ATT, it's going to be 4s released then 6 months later another iPhone will be released to work on the 4g cell network. but we will see on Tuesday. I'm happy with the iPhone 4. Either way I'll buy it when all the hype dies down

Vodafone is listing it as an iphone 4S. I imagine Apple will be using iphone 5 when its completely redesigned.

There are only two kinds of people when it comes to the new iPhone knowledge.

The first group (99.99 percent of employees) have absolutely no access to information regarding the new iPhone. They get their data from tech blogs.

The second group has all the knowledge, it is a VERY small group, and they are all under NDA. NONE of those people will divulge any information as violating an NDA has almost limitless ways of getting somebody in a whole lot of trouble.
