Bracelet stretch/Cleaning on newer models

Hi everyone,

It's been Almost a year since owning my GMTc. Is it necessary to use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the bracelet to prevent stretch? I use the veraet cleaner once a week. I don't know any jewelers with an ultrasonic cleaner in the Greater Toronto area. Thanks.

Well in over 30 years of wearing Rolex watches that mainly have the Oyster type bracelet. All I have ever used is plain soap and water and apart from normal RSC clean and brush up.Not a problem and some of my bracelets are 20 plus years old, and show no sign of the so called stretch syndrome.

I agree with Peter. For SS, soap and water on a regular basis will suffice. For gold, I'd probably be a little more aggressive in cleaning frequency due to the malleability of that metal. RSC will clean with ultrasonic so no need to bother with it.

Thanks Mike I'll prob clean the new TT DJii mire often. I tend to get my watches dirty from sweat or wearing them everywhere I go.

Good to know, thanks Peter.

Haven't had mine nearly that long, but good to know I am doing the right thing.

Soap and water or Windex and a NEW toothbrush. Don't use an old toothbrush - toothpaste is highly abrasive.

You'd be surprised what comes out of a bracelet after leaving your watch submerged in a glass of room temperture water and mild soap overnight. Shen, not stirred before bed and again in the morning will be an eye opener - especially if it had been neglected.
