Makes sense, alot of the grey dealers seem to be from FLA (or the watches)...

Looks about right, not much of a surprise. Map matches the distribution of wealth in the US for the most part.

Try another brand, like Patek Philippe, or JLC. I would bet the results would be similar, if not nearly identical.

Given my SO's recent obsession with accessories I tried Louis Vuitton (simply 'LV' for the fashion crowd out there). You wouldn't guess which state wins, and by a margin.

Interesting. Is this measure independent of state population, such as percent of searches by state that include Rolex?
Just making sure it's not based on raw number of searches, in which case California, New York, Texas, Florida and other states with large populations would naturally have more searches. There will also be some noise due to VPN users who may appear to Google to be located wherever their company's data center is, not their actual location. All that said, interesting stuff. |

Oops, my bad. I meant luxury watch, say $7500 and up, more or less.

I was told that here in Louisiana, a Rolex is an status symbol within the oil and gas industry. The hierarchy goes with the kind of Rolex that you wear. From SS Air King (I have not seen many) to gold Presidents or gold Sub and YM. I personally think we have just have GREAT taste. The best creole/cajun food , the most beautiful "southern belles" and why not, watches!

On a serious note, there is a lot of old money down here. Also a pretty random note, a lot of the NFL players are from Louisiana. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf...etings_to.html
