Excel on iPad2 ?

Guys
Need a little help as I'm not the most PC/Mac savy as most !

My home PC has given up on me and I've been living with my iPhone and iPad but time has come for me to compile a few excel spreadsheets for my accountant now I know he uses a PC.

So my question is are there any apps I can run on my iPad that will allow me to compile a excel spreadsheet and attach it to my email and send it over to my account who will have no issues opening it ?

Sorry if I sound like a child asking this !

Many thanks
Sam

Yes.
And no.

The ipad spreadsheet program is called numbers.
Apparently you can save and send it in excel readable format.

I would bet that like most of these programs, there would be 'issues' in the 'translation'.
If you choose to do this, I would thoroughly test the final result.

DocsToGo is your solution. Does Excel, Word, PDF's and Power Point. Not cheap, but worth it.

"Quickoffice HD" looks like the best solution to me. I don't have it personally but I researched this issue recently and I will be getting this application.

ZDNet said this:

Which is my favorite and why?
The Apple iWork suite is the most expensive and I honestly enjoy using the apps within this suite the most as they are optimized for the touch user experience on the Apple iPad. Pages is my favorite for word processing with the ability to export in Word format, but the lack of Excel and PowerPoint export limits me from recommending the iWork apps as the best. Documents To Go is very powerful and as a universal application is free for existing iPhone application owners, but it is not optimized for the iPad and the controls could be improved. Office2 HD is a decent low cost option, but I don’t like to be limited by the formats I can work with. Quickoffice is my overall favorite application thanks to the iPad optimized user experience, Word and Excel import and export capability, easy file management, and reasonable $10 price.

I used to use docs to go but was never happy with it so I gave numbers (as well as pages and key note) a try. They've addressed a lot of the complaints and made many improvements.

It syncs with iCloud which makes life easier.
