Hmmm...New Rolex Boutique in NYC???

While walking down 5th this morning I saw this.
Wonder if Wempe is moving their entire store to the Rolex building or just their Rolex products.

I use pliers to get my crown in the right position. Hate when my crown is upside down...but REAL hard to fix. Easier when it is just a little off center on some watches.

That is correct! Please read post 12 in this post (http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...11#post2826811). The VP of Wempe Mr. Ruediger Albers informed me they will be opening a Rolex boutique inside the Rolex headquarters. I can't wait to see it!

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is the Rolex building? Is that their service center? Or is it one of their own office buildings?

Thanks for the insight!

That is pretty cool to have an actual Rolex boutique in the Rolex building! Shop when you drop off your watch for servicing!

The AD at the Tourneau Rolex boutique on Madison and 50-whatever it was told me they had the largest selection of Rolex's in the city, I was kind of surprised actually.

Maybe new ones, but he needs to take a stroll down 47th street on a weekday afternoon

Assuming that they (Rolex) owns the building to begin with, which is prime retail space in NYC, they either:
A. Don't not need to pay rent if Wempe is simply running the store.
Or
B. Will collect rent in a store that also sells their product.

Sounds like a win, win for Rolex.

Wempe is an AD just like any other and they will pay rent and buy and sell only Rolex watches at that location.

Rolex is not in the retail business.

For those who have any interest, I spoke to Mr. Ruediger Albers on Friday and he pointed that the Wempe Rolex boutique will open mid-February 2012. My thoughts are NYC is going to see some radical changes in the price game for Rolex timepiece both new and on the secondary markets.
