I was put on a waiting list way too long and waited 8 years!! LOL! Lost interest and now I think it's over priced. Bought two Omega chronos instead. Now if I ask dealers they will sell me one immediately but just can't choke down the price.

The SS white dial Daytona is just a beautiful watch. Its not for everyone, of course, but I absolutely love it. Definitely a watch that will not be sold or flipped. I think it is sporty and elegant at the same time. It can be worn with jeans or business attire and it looks great. Most people have no idea its a Rolex which I also like. The people who do notice it usually know watches. The exclusivity of it is really nothing more than feeling that you have a watch that not everyone else has, so it does feel special from that regard.

daytona

the thing I like the most about my daytona is the way I feel when I wear it.

Excellent post Dog, thank you

You see people? It's not that hard, if you don't like the Daytona, and/or think the premium it was commanding a few years back was not-warrented, you don't have to BASH the model.

Whatever watch you have is overrated, it doesn't have a chronograph.

I will admit, Tudor proved you CAN put a date on a chronograph and still have it a beautiful watch!

i think the daytona is a great looking watch, maybe the best looking watch rolex ever made.

but for me it is downright impractical, difficult to read in low light and chrono function is tedious to operate and even more difficult to read.

finally:
the upside/downside is it gets noticed... this is nice but sometimes id rather go under the radar.

Hype or not, at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

X2 After three years of ownership I still find myself looking at it all the time. I waited three years and paid full retail and don't regret it for a second. In saying that if I had of been aware of TRF back then I would have saved a lot of time and money by purchasing from a trusted seller.

Do you know what; you probably wouldn't; i think the real fun of being part of this forum is, " wearing a Rolex " whilst reading the various posts. I think you needed to buy your watch to appreciate how good this forum is, because every now and then you can look down at your wrist and smile.
