Advice Please

Hi All,

I am a newbie to this site. I have finally saved to purchase a nice pre-owed rolex. This will be my everyday watch causal/dress. Which one do you think will be the correct choice. Rolex date just SS or explorer ii white face? Please advise.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions gentlemen.

I would most definitely go for the Polar Explorer II. Can't go wrong in my opinion. Perfect blend of class yet sporty. Good luck!!

All depends on which you like more. For me--EXP 2 but taste is subjective. Have you considered a Sub?

Casual Dress? I'd go Explorer II White Face no doubt...always add a TT Datejust for dress up later? OR NOT!

I wear my Explorer and Sub with suits all the time...screw convention!

That's a tough one. Either is a great choice. Best of luck deciding.

Datejust, you'll have a ton of dial colors to choice from, not just white.

The Datejust is a dress watch while the Explorer II is a casual/sport watch.

Are you into dress or sport watches?

I would personally choose the Exp II white dial.

Though the 41mm Datejust looks great too.

First off, welcome to TRF Dan! For me the choice between those 2 would be easy, the Exp II; but I am a tad biased!!

depending on which DJ you are considering (some DJ's are decidedly more "dress"), both options will cover most if not all occassions. beyond that, it's personal choice and which one "speaks" to you more.

I'd go with the Exp2

Only because I lean more towards the sportier models. Good luck.

Welcome to the ever demanding Rolex hobby.. I have an ExII White face and it is perfect (okay so my collection also now includes 5513 & SD) however for casual and smart the EXII is perfect and not too 'Rolexy'... the Datejust was a surprise, my dad waved his new aquisition at me the other day - a really nice blue dialed new DJ.. choices choices, you will have fun choosing, but you should go and try them all on first. I can guarantee this is not your only rolex in a couple of years though!

Welcome! My choice would be DJ, I think you can dress casual and it'll still look ok. The different color dials allow you some flexibility too.

Good luck with your choice, you really can't go wrong either way.
