There is not such a huge difference on the price between the two watches. A think that i don't like on the sea dweller is that it doesn't have and cyclops (date magnification) and it sits higher on the wrist. Also it's heavier than the sub. I would prefer the sub for evey day use since it's a bit lighter and it doesn't sit so high on the wrist. Also it as the cyclops which for me it's a rolex trademark. Both of the watches have the 3135 movement which is a very good accurate and durable movement. I hope that i helped you with what i said. Anyway both of the watches are really great but i would prefer the sub welcome to TRF

It's all personal preference. As frostie says both have the same movement and for all practical purposes one is as tough as the other. I see far fewer SDs in my area than Subs if that means anything.
Try each and see which "fits" better.

Of course only the SD will give you this,

Being heavier and sitting higher on the wrist, the SD is not every man's taste. The Sub Date is lighter and does not sit that heigh on the wrist, and if you are not a proffessional scuba diver, you really don't need the SD.

But the BEST thing is to try them both on at your AD (if he has both, that is!), and the one that "smiles back at ya" is the one you should choose.

You really cannot go wrong with either of them

Do you like the Cyclops?
I sold my sub and bought an SD because the cyclpos collects "stuff".
The SD also used to have a different (rounded) crystal, I don't know if they are the same now?
The Cyclops also says lOOk at me, I have a Rolex.
Not my cup of tea.
The no-date sub is very nice.
