iOS is Apple's mobile operating system. (Like Windows on a Computer)
If you update the iOS, some bug fixes will get solved and you get more functions as well.

Found it humorous that one of the fixes was to recognize Austrialian accents in dictation.

Thanks for the info...

Plugging in my phone now and then the iPad. Battery life was indeed poor after the last update.

Charged yesterday morning. Normal use plus some a little bit of GPS and a couple hours in a hospital with no signal (searching, which really kills the battery). Still at 21%. Not bad at all.

Dear all,

another option to safe some battery life : switch off the ping function !
(Settings - General - Restrictions - Ping off)

What is Ping : Ping, is a software-based, music-oriented social networking and recommender system.

Regards,

Alexander

Why not turn off restrictions all together?

I upgraded my ipad without problems, but am still using os4 on my iphone4. I'm a bit scared that the new software will slow the phone down enough to force me to upgrade.
