FINALLY!! Caught Crystal Etchings....
I finally managed to catch some glimpse of the crystal etchings on me and my wife's Rollies. It really wasn't easy with the Canon850IS i have. Have been trying all forms of oblique light, camera angle & lighting conditions and finally paid off. Kinda.
I know the following crystal etching pics are nothing to match the quality's of what i've seen on this forum, but really just feeling ecstatic just knowing that its there So just wanna share it with all, and what a better place than here. Could have fiddled with editing pic brightness and contrast etc to enhance its visibility, but decided against it. I'll just post them as taken. So please bear with this and you may have to squint a little (maybe a lot), may even get flamed, but what the hell, here goes...... Wife's OP76080 and my ExpII: Etching on the OP76080 (between the words "Swiss Made"): Etching on my ExpII (under the double SS in the word "Swiss"): Lume shot of our Rollies: Last edited by Lol-x; 28 August 2007 at 10:04 PM.. But must also be a special setting since the Coronet "glows"?

I too notice mine today. However my digital camera is not the SLR type and I have poor camera skills. <note to self> Other then AUTO functions I really need to learn the settings.

The macro function (i.e. the tulip symbol) does make a big difference if you activate that.

And like Lol-X stated, i used the macro function. In fact, there was even a digital macro on the cam, which was how i finally managed to catch the etched coronets, not the best, but just needed to satisfy myself that its there. Could have gotten myself a loupe to do that though , but i just wanted it captured on image. Finally, i just hope this is the end of my madness..... NOT!!! |
