What photos can't tell you.

I came up with this idea for a thread after attending a party last night at an AD. They had a TT white Daytona Panda and a Rose Gold champagne panda Daytona (both had all black subdials). I never realized this, but when you look closely at the Rose Gold watch and move it a little, the light dances around and flashes on the subdials in a spectacular fashion! I was just standing there, mesmerized, watching what looked like three little Faraday machines just cranking out multiple arcs of light from each of the subdials. But when I moved the TT around... nothing. Even though the subdials are the same color, if you look very closely, you'll see that the Rold Gold ones are micro machined with what looks like concentric rings, but the TT ones were flat. The subdials on the Rose Gold watch, combined with the all gold bezel and bracelet, provided a light show that put the poor TT to shame.

Another is when you hold a green dial sub in your hand (or your wrist) and move it around. The light coming off of that green dial is simply amazing!

Any other examples of Rolex phenomenon in real life that you cannot percieve in pictures?

The only phenomenon that you hear in real life that you cannot percieve in pictures is the big sucking sound from my wallet when I get another Rolex...................lol

Do you find it surprising that the rose gold daytona is made with more detail? I would expect it seeing the price tag it carries in contrast with the tt model.
I can see your point though, they are more fun to look at in real life then pictures

Surprising? I find it shocking! Remember this is Rolex we're talking about.

Well thank you for the one nice comment.

At 366 views, perhaps people didn't understand the question?
Okay... here are a couple more examples.

Up until the moment I put a solid gold Rolex on (with the bracelet), I had no idea how HEAVY they were - these things weigh a ton!

Also, I didn't appreciate how comfortable the new style bracelets are until I had worn one of the older style. My TT Blue Sub constantly put marks on the bottom of my wrist every time I would rest my arm on my desk. I certainly do think that the new bracelets are worth the extra money. I could even wear my Daytona in my sleep.
