16610LV Questions....Also some Pics!
First, Hi from Ireland! and thanks to all for a great and very informative source for Rolex. I have used the search and cant seem to find some answers for the question I have.
I Recently sold my 2011 purchased random SN 16610LV and more or less regretted it straight away! If its any good I have a new random Sub C. to pick up in the first week in the new year. Any Way I wanted a Sub C, now have one but now I also want a 16610LV back in my collection. So now my questions. I may have the opportunity to pick up a 2007 LV but I have some reverations about it. First I know it is has a NON Rolex service or at least has been worked on, has a well faded bezel and is a little beat up. I will be getting the LV serviced at my local ARD to bring it back to all Rolex parts and have it brushed/polished back to new. I believe my AD is authorized to service in house but is there any where to find a list of in store service jelwers or how can I find out if my AD is truely authorized by Rolex to service? Will Rolex themselves every service the watch as it has been worked on by a non Rolex watchmaker? Can a new bezel be got through Rolex as I personally do not like the faded look? The Rolex I have in mind and is the Non Rolex Rolex inner bezel which I don't mind. As I have to start looking again what year would be suggested to pick up or are they really all the same? Finally around what price should I be looking to get the in-store service done at in euro? Now a few pics of my sadly missed LV |

Don't mention anything about it being serviced by non Rolex person...its a used watch not under warranty so they aren't going to ask anyway I don't think.
Are you saying that the bezel insert is Non-Rolex? They will replace that and probably not return the fake insert. If they are an Authorized Dealer I'd say you can trust that they are not lying about being able to service. They'd have a lot to lose.... A service shouldn't be more than about 460 Euros ($600 USD) and that might be a tad on the high side. Not including the bezel...of course. Good Luck. |

Would it notbe more economical to pick up a better example? Or even an earlier LV ?
One of the original earlier LV's would be a better purchase IMO. |

I think the OP meant it is an earlier model which doesn't have the "Rolex Rolex Rolex" engraving on the rehaut.
Personally, I like the one's that aren't engraved RAZZ |

I would question why a 4 year old Sub needed a service and also why the bezel is faded!
Might do better to keep looking. dave

Thanks for the reply's! Regards the non Rolex service/work it may have only have been a regulation but it was opened up by the non Rolex dealer where it was sold last year. The faded bezel was compared to my 2011 was when I had both side by side so that may have been exaggerated when seen next to my 2011 watch. "Would it notbe more economical to pick up a better example" Factoring and counting on the way I am going to acquire the watch hopefully no! NIB or as new SC are making around 5000 to 5500Euro. I would hope to have this example for around 4250 which would have my AD service for added peace of mind. Also the seller may want to trade a watch I have to the value of C. 3000Euro hopefully leaving me to outlay 1250E anf ending with me have a as new Lv and felling complete again! |
