Do you TRF in public.
So we loaded up the wagon and drove 1100 miles to Grandpa's house for Christmas. I decided to bring my computer and I was sitting on the couch wearing my sub with my laptop on TRF when my father law, mother n law, and wifes sister came into the room and asked right away what I was looking at. For some reason I was embarrased to tell them I was on TRF. I said I was checking football scores instead. Does anyone else TRF in public or around other family members? My wife used to not understand but after I put a Platty YM on her wrist she got it.

Great question. I have no problem viewing TRF at home. I do feel uncomfortable viewing TRF in public, though. In particular, it is awkward viewing at work if someone happens to see a big Rolex up on my screen (I work for a non-profit).

I hide it!
My dad absolutely hates that I like Rolex. My grandfather thinks Rolex is for the rich. My mom doesn't care and neither does my brother or grandmothers. I usually hide it, when I'm on TRF, go somewhere in my house where no one is and browse away! They probably think I'm looking at nude girls!

Yeah I look at TRF in public. For some reason it really tickles people when you wear Rolex and you also browse a Rolex forum. It's so different when you own a particular car and browse a particular car forum...

Only in the privacy of my own home, but only because I'm too cheap to buy a big data plan.

I know the feeling. My wife gets upset I spend so much time (and money$$!!) on watches. I think she'd rather I surf porn than watches...
But I do anyway |

Yes, all the time. My wife complains that I pay attention on Rolex more than her.

Yes and my wife is seriously annoyed now! On my flight to Italy for the holidays I learned how to post pictures from my Android device using photobucket my wife says I have now taken my horology hobby and turned it into an annoying habit! Thank goodness for the iPad in my guest bathroom

I absolutely do! Although I keep it somewhat on the low because there is no need to draw attention to myself!

Hilarious thread. I don't do much surfing where others could notice except at home. I get a little grief from my wife and the teens. But I've taken on a low profile where I only wear back Rolex divers, so they can't tell the difference. They totally know a new watch in the house when it is different colors. I still get questions like, "daddy do you still have the orange planet ocean?" or "what happened to the green watch?" LOL.

All the time... most folks don't realize there's so many people interested in watches, let alone just one brand. :)
