2 Rolexes for All Occasions
If you had $20,000 to spend on 2 watches, what would they be. Has to cover jeans/t-shirt to suit/tux.
I have narrowed it down to 4: sub c, gmt iic, ss daytona and datejust ii. Leaning toward sub c and daytona... |

Just one YG DayDate - it truly works with everything (I wear my DDII with everything, but if 20K is your ceiling, then the DD it is).

A 16200 and a 14060m would do for most occations I guess.

No need to for me to reply! Other that to complement your good taste. You picked them correctly, in my opinion: Daytona and Sub C my two favourites well and the GMT II Pepsi I just got...

It's just my opinion, but stainless is a bit more versatile with more casual wear than gold. The gold DD/DDII doesn't look "right" with jeans and a t-shirt for those outside of the entertainment business. I'd love to be shown photos and proven wrong, though.

For a while I owned the SS Daytona (116520) and the Sea-Dweller (16600) solely and the combo covered all bases for me.

If modern, I'd go with a 14060M for the beater role, and a gently pre-loved gold Daytona (yellow or white, according to one's preference) on a strap for those more sartorially stylish days.

I'd do two watches the following way:
SS DJ siver dial jub bracelet for say $5500, then take the rest and make a downpayment on a YG daytona for dressier occasions and the jeans and informal. YG is great for chillin. the SS can be worn when around where YG would be brash, and pay pmts for three months. If I had the 20, that's what Id do. I think it's worth considering a precious metal model with that much cashola. |

Below are some pictures of me, plus a picture I found when researching my watch that really helped me decide on YG Champagne with Romans (this last one isn't me, and it is the DD and not my DDII). |

I am surrounded by professionals as well and I mostly see stainless on their wrists when they're actually wearing watches (it's amazing how many folks don't wear watches these days). We're surrounded by musicians, actors, and the like here in Nashville and I rarely see anything other than stainless on their wrists as well. |

Your have tastes very similar to mine - you have good taste, IMO.
While the SS Daytona is my grail/fav; in your situation and budget, the GMT2Cand the DJ2 would cover your bases nicely - especially if the JJ were TT. I know I'll catch heat for that one but it would truly cover all of your bases nicely. With that said, a Daytona and a GMT2C would be more than fine.
