Louis Vuitton Tambour

I love the look of the watch but is the price even worth it... Is it a quality watch who makes it?

Padi edit

If "worth it" translates to "does it hold its value well, and able to be sold for anything comparable to what I paid for it down the road?" then the answer is a resounding NO. I'm sure it's well made from quality components, but none to nearly none of them are Louis Vuitton-manufactured-not a huge surprise, as the brand is not and never has been a watchmaking house. This places it in the category of ultra-elite luxury item, but as a watch it has no pedigree or heritage to attract collectors---hence the absymally low values for it and its ilk on the secondary market. If you really loved any of the LV Tambours, I would only consider buying one pre-owned, as then at least you can reap the benefit of the massive initial depreciation compared to its retail pricing.

Case, dials, movement, hands, crystals, and straps (etc.) all come from notable Swiss suppliers certainly, and then branded and marketed by LV.

i wouldn't go near those kind of fashion brands... for watches that is.. although a louis vuitton style watch with rolex or pp movement would sway me

Yep - and some of them are damn good ones. Believe it or not, some of the LV Tambours have the same El Primero that Daytonas had in the 90's... Go figure....

The resale is horrid, so buy used and deeply discounted.
