Braided leather bracelets... Educate me...

OK, so I see lots of wrist shots with a braided leather bracelet peeking out. What's the deal with this? New fashion? Who wears them? Is there a best style to get? Is it all about the clasp?

Really, I'm clueless on this so please fill me in.

I am not sure what you are looking for, I wear a silver bracelet from scott kay he has some nice designs and does do some leather bracelets with silver clasps.

I've seen the rise in popularity of these braided leather bracelets too. They range from flea-market-cheap to relatively expensive with designers like David Yurman. For me, I've got tiny 6.5" wrists, so it's difficult to find one in the right size, since you can't exactly resize these easily...which is fine, b/c I wear a Phiten titanium bracelet all the time anyway.

Somewhat OT...what is the purpose of a titanium bracelet? My 10 year old just received the necklace as a birthday present. He enjoys wearing it. I see that athletes wear it, but I can't figure out why.

Haha, at least that's what their marketing materials say. I just wear mine b/c it has my university's athletic team on it and it looks cool.

Well, to each his/her own, but there's power and beauty on wrists of men all over the world. And for Native people, definitely. Not a hint of the feminine on these guys. Examples:

Interesting, well...I don't know much about the leather bracelets and the purpose of them. But this is what I wear: Paracord Double Cobra Weave. Like anything else, a tool (just like a watch=tool to tell time + protects my wrist area from cuts and the like). The bracelet protects my wrist, if needed I can un-do it to use 16ft of high strength cord and many other uses I rather not say. BTW most of these SWCC guys wear these types of bracelets 24/7, wonder if you consider them feminine?
Then again, I agree with you 100% when I see a guy wearing the latest Lady Gaga fashion. Not all bracelets are the same

I don't know if this counts as a braided leather bracelet but here's mine.



I think leather bracelets look especially nice when on the same wrist as another jewel, whether it's a watch or a metal bracelet.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible. Haha. Luckily, they also make a flat version which is more friendly for everyday wear. Sadly, I don't own one of their bracelets yet since they are quite pricey...and would probably break my 6.5" wrists.

The skull is on the outside of the clasp. They alo have variations that they can put a crusader shield motif on the outside instead, skulls on every link, no skulls at all, skulls with tritium eyes, etc.

The one with tritium in the eyes is preeeettty awesome...

I wear a 18ct white gold cuff bracelet(90gr).Always,everywhere...work,gym etc.Cape cod and wenol red keeps it looking bright.

Thanks for the info re: titanium.

Not sure if the claims are true...my husband wears a titanium wedding ring (fits better and is more durable than the gold one I got him 20+ years ago). Wouldn't there be about as much titanium in a solid wedding ring than in a bracelet? On the other hand, he hasn't had any colds since he got his new ring...

I have the same Pandora leather bracelet, but in grey. Strange that Pandora markets their jewelry exclusively to women. I saw it when I was bringing my niece to get her Pandora and bought one for myself, along with a few of the "charms"

I always wear mine on my right wrist, since I don't want to risk scratching my Rolex.
