FS: 1665 Sea Dweller - Bob Ridley Service
For sale is a Rolex 1665
I am looking for a seller who appreciates the work (and cost) of a Bob Ridley service. Watch was overhauled to the tune of about $1,595 in late 2008. Watch has beautiful silver date wheel and a nicely faded silver insert. Bob Ridley added a new Rolex lume dot in the bezel insert but only after removing the luminova and adding material to match the original dial and hands. The match is perfect - better than in last few pictures. I would like to limit the sale to a US buyer. Would consider a European or Asian buyer if you are well know to me and can arrange transpertation from the US. I bought this watch for $13,500 in 2008 then bought a brand new bracelet with correct end pieces for another $1,000ish (I have the papers) then $1,595 for service. But I'll let it go due to some difficult times for $11,500 OBO. Must have references. Preference is given NOT to the first to write me but to the first regular I recognize. Please don't be offended if you ask to buy and I ask you to wait a little. Refund if you are a regular who I know and not happy and return the watch within 10 days. If you are not a regular, I will refund if watch is not all authentic Rolex, and you return the watch within 10 days. Buyer to pay all shipping costs. Must agree to shipping only by USPS registered mail. A NOTE ABOUT THE PICTURES - Most of the pictures below are before the Bob Service and with the old stretched out bracelet. If it has a black stone background it is a pre-service picture with the old crystal (which will come with the watch). The last few pictures are of the watch after service and with the new bracelet and the lume dot installed. Trades Maybe. I might be open to a trade with $$$ for a nice 16660 or 16800 with a gloss dial, very clean, but with lots and lots of patina. Would consider a 5513 a 1680 as well. Would also consider a trade for a nice silver dialed Date-Just 1600, 1601 or 1603, preferably with an oyster bracelet. Would also consider a nice Vintage Seiko 7549-7010 300m Tuna, or a JLC Navy Seals Alarm. Thanks, Michael M. (pic before crystal and bracelet were replaced and lume dot added) |
