In this rare circumstance I would get the Omega, I just can't live with the thickness of the DSSD. When I tried one on it was like strapping a top-hat to my wrist. Not comfortable, JMHO.

Results will likely be biased toward a particular make given the nature of this forum...

That being said, I would pick the Deepsea if you can it pull it off size wise.

Having tried on the steel version of the new POC, I was very impressed, the fit and finish on all of the new Planet Oceans are superb. I would personally take the non-chrono version, but I think in terms of every day wearability, the Planet Ocean is the stand out watch here.

Of those I'd go for the PloProf... But I wouldn't actually have any off them.

I kind of understand the desire for watches rated to such extreme depths but try to resist sipping the "deeper/faster/bigger/shinier automatically equals better" Kool-aid.

Out of those, definately the Deepsea - and that's coming from someone who is very pro Omega. There's probably only the JLC Navy Seals that I prefer over the Deepsea.

I am a huge IWC fan and love their divers. The deep two has the mechanical depth gauge which is a nice feature. Check out their site, great watch.

I own the IWC Aquatimer 2000 and it is the perfect summer watch. It is waterproof to over 6,600 ft and it super comfortable on the wrist. If you are looking for a nice diver, you should look at them as well.

As far as the Deep Sea, true divers should be on rubber IMHO or have the ability to quickly change from the bracelet to a rubber strap just like IWC's quick strap changing system.

I love Rolex more than just about any watch or Brand, but the Ploprof Is an awsome looking watch. If I was a diver and was looking for a diving tool its the Ploprof

when the day comes that I plan on descending more than 30 ft I'll explore my options

Have you guys tried the POC? It is 45.5mm and a whopping 19mm thick! It makes the DSSD look and feel like an agile watch!?! :-)

I actually would suggest the DSSD and the Ploprof. Both are extreme diving tools, the former something abit more wearable and the latter ugly but fun!

Have been down this road and chose the Deep Sea and have enjoyed it and never looked back. The key is getting the watch properly sized for the right fit.
