Aftermarket Croco Style Straps

Guys Ive had a 112 for a few months and am starting to think about aftermarket strap and bracelet options.

I'm keen to buy a cost effective gloss black croc grain leather, genuine croc or alligator strap that'll accept the oem screw buckle.

Naturally I've searched various sites and I'm slightly blinded by all the options and the wide cost differential. Clearly I do understand that you get what you pay for.

I am very interested in hearing from guys on this forum that actually own a strap that they can recommend that wont break the bank.

Black, gloss not matt, croc style not with huge buckle and not too many $$$.

ABP is my vote. "Cost effective" is certainly relative here. They aren't exactly inexpensive, however the quality is spot-on!

Try strap code.com - they have croco pattern straps on calf leather. Not sure on the quality has never owned one. But did buy a kangaroo leather strap from them and service was really good.

My first strap on the strap hunting scene was a red-brownish OEM gator and to this day its money very well spent. But agree its quite pricey. Worth considering getting one you REALLY like and will wear for a long time. I've bought straps that now just lay idle as quality was compromised.

Thanks guys. Lots for me to work through there. I did look at ABP. Ideally spend is c$100-200. Want something to make the watch more refined over sporty, for the office and dress.

Jonathan at strap-works.com offers a gator that is right in the middle of your desired price range. The straps have held up well for me and are nicely finished. Good luck with your search.

ABP is awesome, but, definitely NOT in the budget.

just to say, OEM crocs are so fine, it might be worth stretching the budget for them....IMHO, the aftermarket market is great for casual straps, but, for the "dress" straps, it's worth it to consider spending a tad more and going, for example, OEM, ABP or di stefano (click here).

I had the original calf strap for the 000 and I was just not happy with the look. Then I bought an OEM gator and the thing just looked a million dollars. I also vouch for and highly recommend the OEM gators.

Sure. Here are a few pics. One is a pic that strap-works sent me to review before purchase of a new 26x26 gator from for my Radiomir but will showcase the grain variety. The photo with my 312 will provide some good contrast for you as it shows the OEM gator on the bottom, the strap works on the 312 and a Simona (with my MX buckle sewn in) on top. You can see the slight variation in stitching thichness as well as the 24/24 width on the Simona vs the 24/22 on the others, and what you may not notice is that the OEM is a rolled edge whereas the strap works is edge coated and and the Simona is a natural cut edge. Not sure of the exact prices but roughly: OEM +- $360, strap works +- $140, Simona, +- $225. Lots of choices and variety as others have pointed out. Go with your gut and give one or more a try. Like many of us, you will end up with a variety of straps and trust me, it is both a fun hobby and major addiction at the same time (evidence last pic - Sigh!)

Great advice! No one likes the same straps equally. It is soooo hard to say "this is the strap" because everyone is different. It is a journey to determine what you like.
