Can the AD you bought from do something about it? In any case, two weeks is not much in the grand scheme of things since this will bother you for much longer.

I feel your frustration, but I agree with dddrees and masterserg. Looking at the big picture, 2 weeks is a small burden to endure to get the watch the way it should have been in the first place. If it was my watch, I'd send it in and tell myself the wait would be a character building experience!

My brand new black dial Explorer II also have big dust and a big scratches... i sent it back to RSC to claim the warranty... but after getting it back from RSC my case back and bracelet get scratches and the main issue still havent solve yet?! New scratches on the black dial has been found on the other side... Haiz... RSC told me this kind of black dial sure got scraches due to its polishing before it was instale into the oyster case.. I really really cannot accept this explaination given by RSC!

The AD will not think you are a pain.
Call and discuss it first and then let them
remove it & clean the hands. They are equipped to correct this.
A new sale is a priority to them and they'll want to make this correct!

took back to the AD, and ended up getting a brand new replacement

I'm thinking the AD's where this kind of stuff this happens at may be doing dial swaps, and things they shouldn't be doing after the watches leave Rolex's Geneva factory.
Rolex has many checks and procedures; I find it hard to believe a new Rolex watch would have smudges on the hands.

Spoke to the AD [Watches of Switzerland] this afternoon by phone [I'm abroad till Sun] and they were really helpful. Said I should bring it in next week and they'd get their watchmaker to put it to the front of the queue so that I could have it back on the same day. If they're as helpful as the guy on the phone was [Richard] I'll be delighted. Can't complain at that level of service.

Well, all respect to Watches of Switzerland. I took it in this morning. Their watchmaker had a look with light and lupe, admitted that there was dust and marks. It was then fixed in half an hour and re-sealed/ tested etc. Couldn't ask for better service.
